As promised, I’m posting!

Again, we won’t be returning to the 19th series of Classic Doctor Who until next month (well, at the latest, MAYBE earlier.)

No, for the time being, I’m going to be posting some quick reviews of other Doctor Who media.  We’ll start off with a freebie audio play!

For a few years, I’ve heard about the Big Finish audio dramas/radio plays.  The canonicity of them are debatable, perhaps, but who cares?  It’s Doctor Who and, in many of them, it’s classic Who starring the classic actors!

Big Finish has some free ones, so we’ll start with one of them – and I’ll include the link at the end so you can get a copy yourself.  (And yes, that means the review will be short, sweet and non-spoilery.)

Doctor Who: The Mutant Phase is a fun little adventure starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa!  Also, Mark Gatiss plays a role, so that’s pretty cool.

The story is fun, features one of the classic villains of the Who franchise, and best of all, ties in to another classic Who story (one of an earlier Doctor than the Fifth, so even more better.)

You just can’t go wrong with this – it’s got intrigue, excitement, and of course, time travel.  It’s light hearted at times, campy and fun – all the features that resonated with so many in the original run.

Go, you can listen to it online or download it here.
